How to Care for Your Gear: Leather, Textiles, and Gloves

Your riding gear is an investment that keeps you safe and looking great on the road. To help it last longer and stay in top condition, here are some easy-to-follow care tips for leather garments, textile gear, and gloves.

Caring for Leather Garments

  • Avoid washing your leather gear with water or throwing it in the washing machine—leather doesn't like that!
  • Never iron or bleach your leather, and steer clear of dry cleaning services.
  • Skip any cleaning products with solvents; instead, use specialized leather care products.
  • Keep leather away from tumble dryers. Always let it air dry naturally if it gets wet.

Caring for Textile Gear

  • Remove any integrated protectors and foam inserts before cleaning.
  • Make sure all zippers and Velcro are closed to avoid damage.
  • Wash your textile gear gently at no more than 30°C. Avoid over-rinsing or spin-drying.
  • Don’t put it in a tumble dryer or iron it. Like leather, air drying is best.

Caring for Gloves

  • Skip the washing machine—gloves are delicate! Use a special detergent for leather or textile materials and clean them by hand.
  • Rinse them with clean water and avoid twisting or wringing them out when wet.
  • Wrap the gloves in a dry cloth, gently press to remove excess water, and let them air dry.
  • Don’t iron or tumble dry gloves—just let them dry naturally.
